Longboard Buyers Guide

We have five categories of longboards on our website. These are not strict rules, just a general guide to help you choose a longboard for the type of skateboarding you want to do. These categories are:

Carving and Freeride ---- Cruiser ---- Mini ---- Slalom ---- Downhill

Depending on the type of skating you want to do we have completes waiting to go or we can build you the perfect setup. All our boards can be customised. Too many options? Can not decide? Call us on 02 8060 1588 and talk to one of our staff for a recommendation.

Do you need a commuter board?
We have mini skateboards that will fit in a backpack, or can be stored in a locker or under a desk. Look at the Madrid 1979 Retro or Surf One Microbus or Dogtown mini or totally go back in time to when flares were big and fibreglass boards ruled the roads with a Madrid Fibreglass complete!!!
Something a little bit longer but still fun as a mini is the Rayne Timeline
If it is a cruiser commuter you need - something longer, a board that is easier to push and manouver, lightweight to carry but still fun and practicle to ride around on. Look at the Loaded Dervish (our most popular board), or Loaded Vanguard or Rayne Hustler or Loaded Fish

Is earth surfing your style?
These are slalom setups, you dont need to race on it, just pedestrian slalom around town. Easy to push and foot brake stop, with a kicktail for that annoying big crack in the footpath the council wont fix.
Look at the chixill or skaterbuilt range. Surf One have the sunrise board. And Madrid have an excellent range including the Rat Fink

How about just bombing hills and carving roads?
These are the longer boards in the range, such as the pintails. A stiffer deck or a stiffer flex of board is suited to Agressive downhill skating, big hard carves and general freerding.
Airflow from Switzerland have just released the speedwing range - including the Speedwing 39 and the Speedwing 42 . Dregs do the Alpine drop through. Or be the first one on the block with a Tactis Carbon Graphite infused Poly composite board - Demos
