We think we have found the best of both worlds, half Magun / half roger brothers.
Here's the deal: it is medium density shoe side rubber with a high density road side layer. These layers are not glued together, they are manufacturered as a dual compound rubber.

The road side layer is lightly gripped, it is low wearing at high speed. It has a high heat dissipation to save your griptape from burning. It is also a solid layer so it will not absorb water. 6mm thick
Light weight
You will not wear this out by walking around.
Perfect for freeriding - you dont want to freeride with a car tyre on your shoe.
